KHS SWIM TEAM TAKES
HOME 2ND PLACE AT STATE!
Coming off of their Region Championship the week before, the Kearns Cougars took
2nd in state in both boys and girls. We
had more medal winners than ever before. We started off the meet with 24 points
behind brighton in the battle for 2nd place. With many great drops by our
younger swimmers, we made up the difference and were able to finish 2nd place!
Relay Highlights
The Boys 400 free relay
team of Todd Bradley, Cory McLaughlin, Adam Huff, and David Chandler set a
new school record made Automatic
All-American and took 1st place!
The Medley Relay Team of
Addy Marsh, Stephanie Fredsall, Christie Bergesen, and Cindy Ludwig set a
new school record and took 3rd
The Medley Relay Team of
Todd Bradley, Isaac McElhaney, Justin Christensen, and Cory McLaughlin set a
new school record made
All-American Consideration and took 2nd place.
The girls 200 free relay
team of Natalie Edge, Christie Bergesen, Cindy Ludwig, and Tibrell Huff took 1st
place with an Automatic All-American time!
The boys 200 free relay team had a really close race with Viewmont, West Jordan
and Skyline finishing 3rd by .13 of a second behind 1st. But Justin
Christensen, Isaac McElhaney, Adam Huff, and David Chandler went the 2nd fastest
time in school history and made All American consideration.
The girls 400 free relay
got revenge on Brighton from earlier in the year by holding them off and taking
2nd behind skyline. Natalie Edge, Addy Marsh, Timbrell Huff and Megan Raby swam
the 5th fastest time in state history in that event qualifying them for All
American consideration.
